One of the most meaningful moments of Brooke and Brantley's wedding happened before the ceremony even began when they read vows to each other.

They chose to exchange handwritten vows privately inside the chapel, away from family, guests, and the excitement of the day. It gave them a chance to slow down, breathe, and simply be together before walking down the aisle.

Private vows have become one of my favorite wedding-day additions. They create space to be fully present with one another while still allowing your ceremony to remain just as meaningful. As a photographer, these quiet moments often become some of the most emotional images from the entire day.

If there's one piece of wedding-day advice I give almost every couple, it's this: plan ten or fifteen minutes for sunset portraits.

As the sun dipped lower over Tin Roof Farms, Brooke and Brantley slipped away from the reception for a few quiet moments together. The golden light spilling across the fields created some of the dreamiest portraits of the entire day! It also just gave them a chance to pause and soak in everything that had just happened.

Those few minutes often become a couple's favorite part of the day. It's one of the only times you truly get to be alone together before the celebration continues. (plus the photos are SO GOOD!)
